Future Years; Scarlet Pimpernel "Epilogue"

FOUR YEARS LATER....

"Margot? Where are you, my dearest??" I called out.
She might've been with James and Juliette, but I wasn't sure. Juliette, 4, and James, 3, were our children.
"I'm out here, sweetheart." she replied. "I'm in the garden with the kids."
I heard a bark and a joyful squeal. I ran over to the garden and realized that it was James, running right behind our dog, Max. Atleast, he was trying to. Every two sprints, he would trip; and Marguerite would just giggle, smile, and tell him to keep on trying. Juliette was sitting on the swing, chanting, "back and forth, back and forth!" with the tune of an English National Anthem. I watched how her long, blond hair swayed and her green eyes twinkled with delight as she swung to and fro.
"Bag and froth!" said James, and jumped on Max, making them both plummet to the ground. Everyone started laughing.
“James, you did it!” says Juliette with a huge grin on her face as she went to give him a hug.
“Daddy, I did it!” James exclaimed.
“Yes, yes you did my little one.” I replied as I picked him off the ground and spun him around. Marguerite stood up and walked over to me. She whispered in my ear, “I’m so happy I followed you to France that day.” and stared straight into my eyes. Her irises were changing color to a dark green, and they twinkled. She grabbed my face and kissed me.
"Ewww!!” Said James as he made a “yuck” expression.
“Mommy and Daddy sitting in a tree, K.I.S.S.I.N.G!” Chanted Juliette. The children both fell to the ground laughing. At that moment, I didn't see the marvelous flowers in the garden, or the blue sky; but the two wonderful children on the ground in front of me, both smiling at me. And the most important element; the young and beautiful woman standing behind them. And the best thing about them, you ask? That they were mine forever.

The Devil's Tournament

This year's NCAA Tournament had many upsets. I call this the Devil's Tournament because there were so many upsets. The largest upset of the tournament was 14 seeded Ohio beating 3 seeded Georgetown 97-83. The largest win of the tournament was 1 seeded Kentucky beating 9 seeded Wake Forest 90-60. There were also buzzer beaters to pull off upsets such as 13 seeded Murray State beating 4 seeded Vanderbilt 66-65 on a buzzer beater. There were also upset scares in the tournament. 15 seeded Robert Morris led 2 seeded Villanova in most of that first round game. Villanova won that game in overtime 73-70. The best game of the tournament was 2 seeded Kansas State beating 6 seeded Xavier 101-96 in double overtime. The most shocking win of the tournament was 9 seeded Northern Iowa beating 1 seeded Kansas 69-67.

Duke won the National Championship beating Butler 61-59. Gordon Hayward missed a last second half-court shot which bounced of the backboard and the rim.  You can see that on the video below.  The Final Four Teams were Michigan State, Butler, West Virginia, and Duke. Michigan State beat Tennessee 70-69. Butler beat Kansas State 63-56. West Virginia beat Kentucky 73-66. Duke beat Baylor 78-71. In the first semifinal, Butler beat Michigan State 52-50. In the second semifinal, Duke beat West Virginia 78-57. Duke ended up winning the National Championship. I, Sir Percy, think that the favored teams lost confidence and just weren't able to get the job done.  At the end of the tournament, the champions were the Duke Blue Devils. Duke beat Butler 61-59 in the championship.

Now, I bet you are thinking why does an Englishman care about United States College Basketball.  Well, first of all, I am rich, so I have enough money to travel and go to the games.  I don't always think about this because I am busy rescuing innocent nobles from unfair execution but when I have free time, I take my wife, Marguerite, with me to the games.  I really like the Xavier and Kansas State game.

Please watch the video below about the National Championship.  Also, please vote on the polls on the right.

My Thoughts on the West Virginia Mine Disaster

I Sir Percy cannot bear the horrible news about the "West Virginia Mining Disaster". It is sad to hear about the 29 miners that died and the 3 that are still missing. I met the miners wife's and they told me that the reason that the "Great Branch" of the mine blew up because there was too much carbon monoxide that built up in the branch causing the explosion. They told me that it has happened before but the reason there mad is because one their husbands died and two the mine has a prevention system.

The company was fined 4.2 million dollars for the accident because someone was suppose to check the carbon monoxide meter every month but no one checked it in six months. That is why I think they deserved the fine even though it wasn't totally their fault because whoever they sent down to check the meter didn't causing this fatal accident.

It reminds me of the “Reign of Terror” and how me and my loyal friends saved some of those poor nobles that got killed on the guillitine. Because they were nobles it was very tragic just like this. But the “Reign of Terror” was intentional this was an accident.

The Jew's Perspective

I was really surprised at Marguerite last week. I’ve been wondering why she would risk her life for me when she doesn’t even love me! But apparently she does; and she will “never let anything happen to me”. As if that is possible! She is acting like I am not the Scarlet Pimpernel and that I do not have millions of requests for help and people to save! Au revoir! I wish she understood that I cannot hold her forever, for I have a very important job that requires my instincts. When I sense danger I will be able to take care of myself. I do not need a lady’s help to save lives. Especially putting her life in danger for mine! That is ridiculous! If something bad happened to her I don’t know what I would do. I mean sure she over exaggerates and makes things worse sometimes, but I love her with all my might. I hope she knows that. Well, she should because that poem I wrote for her was supposed to tell her that I love her, but do not need her at every second of will. It just might take time for her to realize that. It sure is nice having her there. But not all the time and every breath of the day. But I guess that’s love right?

My thoughts on the iPad

I Sir Percy, love this new "ipad". I am so glad I got this "ipad" even though it was very expensive but definitely worth it. But im making up for the expenses by playing online poker. Then when im at my house a messenger or a "mail man" comes and brings me my money I make online. I have made 648 English Pounds which equals 1000 U.S dollars on online poker from this wonderful ipad. I also like the ipad because I can take it about anywhere I go.

But my friends have to be home to play poker online because they have these things called "computers". So while im making thousands of dollars they are twiddling there thumbs and still trying to pay off there "computers". My wife Marguerite does not like this new ipad because she says I play poker to much on it but I really know why she doesn't like it because she want to go shopping online for new cloths and jewelry.

New Buddies

Last week I was in the airport coming back from Germany, and on that last plane back home, I saw two young men playing a card game. It looked quite interesting, and they were smiling. I just HAD to ask. “Excuse me men. May I ask what you are playing?” I said. Thankfully, they understood English. “We’re playing War,” they replied in an American accent. “Have you ever played War??”

I told them about “Hazard”, the card game I loved to play with Andrew and Tony, and anyone else who felt the want to join, really. Hazard was the ancestor of the game Craps, which was a game that needed skill in betting and gambling. They taught me how to play War, which was a game where you trade in pairs of cards, and if someone has the same pair as another, they clash with their cards, and see who gets a higher card rank. They seemed interested in what I was saying, so I invited them to play with Andrew, Tony, and I. They agreed to come because they said they were both "checking out" England and were deciding if they should live in Dover or not.

These two lads had just graduated from their last year of college, and were thinking of subbing up enough money from a job when they find one and buying an apartment. "You know there are apartments next to a wonderful dining cafe named the 'Fisherman's Rest', and that you possibly could be hired for a job there, and like that, you can come join the game whenever you're free." I said. "Really?" they replied with a smile. "That's just......perfect!! Sure." Their names were Dane Eberhart, 22 and Roy Laughlin, 21. We decided to meet at the "Fisherman's Rest" next week, and I think that these chaps might be a bit challenging, but when they see my skills, they WILL be suprised.

A Love Poem From I Sir Percy, To My lovely Marguerite

So the other day I was thinking... Marguerite says I don't do anything sweet. Is that so? Well anyway I was thinking about it for an awfully long time and I decided would write my "Lovely" wife a poem. I took a long time thinking about it and had some help from a few friends. You see, we were out on one of our missions. Doing the normal round about helping people there, saving them there. We started discussing famous love composers and some of there swell poems. Sir Andrew remembered one poem he had heard from an ol' pal named Michael Brieck who came up with many amazing poems. I believe one of them was "Reflections of a Beautiful Morning". Yesterday Tony helped me alter the words to match my love life. But we really thank Mr. Michael Brieck for taking the time to write this poem. So here is the altered poem.

The sun rises above the horizon,
As does the love in my heart;
Rays of warmth and love,
From Marguerite I will never depart.

Fresh dew on the grass,
birds are chirping in their nests;
I see her gently sleeping,
My love for her I silently profess.

I enjoy the stillness and tranquility,
Watching as she smiles and dreams;
She brings me to love and peace,
Like that of a flowing stream.

My heart and soul are filled with love like a baker,
And I smile and my eyes start to twinkle;
I’ve been handed a sweet trouble maker
her face doesn’t have one plain wrinkle.

A vow to myself I promise,
Our love will never truly die,
Because I’m sure that my love for her,
is as great as my love for pie;

Until my last breath... that I will take before I die.
and until my last day.
I will cherish my Marguerite,
Just as I cherish pie.

Hm so im thinking its pretty sweet. But, The only real way we can tell is if she likes it is that sweet smile. I think I will send it to her in the mail to our address or leave it under her pillow. Something like that. What do you think? Will she like it? She better I spent at least 10 minutes on it! Well not just me but my buddy’s.
